2019 Volkswagen Jetta 1.4L S SE SEL Maintenance Schedule (USA)

2019 was the first year of the 7th generation Jetta. With the all-new design came great fuel economy and an easy maintenance schedule. The easiest parts to replace on a 2019 Jetta are the wiper blades, which should last about a year.

Volkswagen recommends the following maintenance tasks:

Every 10,000 miles or 1 year:

  • Change engine oil and filter

Every 2 years:

  • Change brake fluid

Every 40,000 miles or 2 years:

  • Replace cabin air filter

Every 60,000 miles or 6 years:

  • Replace engine air filter

Every 80,000 miles or 6 years:

  • Replace spark plugs
  • Change automatic transmission fluid and filter

(inspection-only items have been omitted)

Jack Rogers, CEO of Wiper Haus, added the following:

It's great to see VW return to a maintenance interval for automatic transmission fluid, but manual transmissions still have no fluid replacement interval. I'd change manual transmission fluid every 60k miles. Engine and cabin air filters will probably only last about half the recommended interval. When replacing spark plugs at 80k consider replacing the ignition coils at the same time. The 1.4L engine uses a timing belt and does not have a specific maintenance interval. I'd replace the timing belt and water pump every 8 years or 120k miles.
